Actually I don't remember the size of the exhaust or the muffler. I saw quite a few people running this setup and I paid a shop to install it and weld it in so they may have had to put a connecting pipe in for it to work, the sizes might not match up. Forgot to mention that!

Ahh gotcha. Makes sense

I may have been mistaken as I just went and took a close look at the system that came off my truck, still the elephant in the garage and it looks like it may just be galvanized steel or some mix of that and SS. Not sure.

The MF system I put on is SS.

Oh so the 12249 may not be the muffler that fits my truck

I believe it could also be aluminized steel. The mid pipe I bought for a 2010 model was aluminized steel, so I figure that's what mine is, although now that I think about it, it wasn't OEM. I was wrong earlier when I said galvanized aluminum, too.

Regardless, we can both agree it isn't just some regular steel lol

Exactly. It'll fit but not without some work. Regardless, it's like 4" or so shorter than OEM so you'd need some added pipe in there, too.

Right. I'll need to buy some pipe to cut my resonator out anyhow. How sure are you it's 3" in and out on the stock system?

I'm not too sure, I'm seeing 2.5 to 2.75 in and 3" out online.

You can always buy a reducer for a couple bucks, such as a 3" to 2.5" or whatever you may need. Makes it pretty simple

I might just have a muffler shop I know do it .I absolutely despise exhaust work. You just have the res removed and the 18"? It sounds perfect .

Yeah I agree, that's the only time I've ever paid someone to do something for my truck other than having my truck aligned and tires mounted/balanced. Just let the pros with a lift handle it and do a nice weld instead of exhaust clamps. And yes, just 18" and res removed and I'm happy with it. Inexpensive setup but sounds great

I do have a lift and welder and everything needed to do the job myself, but I'll save my free time for the leveling kit.
Have you tried a flowmaster or anything else? I'm still kinda wondering if flowmaster may be a better sound. I don't mind a little drone in the cab, but I don't want it rattling my head.

I may sound ignorant but I believe Flowmasters are chambered (whereas Magnaflow is perforated straight through). Flowmasters are more restrictive which isn't a good thing, but like I said I don't know much about them.
