Default Made an appointment

I made my appointment with my Local Line-X today. They are going to spray my new bedliner on Monday @ 10 AM. I am excited. I also bought some nice stainless steel step bars that they will be installing too. I would have rather done both of these myself, but I figured the warranty on the bedliner was worth it and the step bar installation is pretty much free. I will make sure to post pictures when it's all done, since you all like pictures so much.

How much does the line-x cost? I already helped a friend move and got some scratches in my bed. I'll be getting a bedliner this week and not sure how much to pay. I have a 5.5 bed.

I have the 6.7 bed and it was $430, but I got a 10% discount so I paid more like $387 or so. The shorter bed will be cheaper here, but I am not sure what the prices are like in your town.

I got a quote of $450 for my short bed.. too bad I have to make a three hour drive to get it installed. No line-x dealers in Houston. But, it will make for a nice road trip.

Really? There isn't a line-X installer in Houston at all? You must not be from Houston Texas. Is there another Houston somewhere else?

Nope, no authorized Line-X dealers/installers in the Houston, TX area. Their web site lists Austin, TX as the closest one and a phone call to their corporate office confirmed the same.

Wow, that is surprising. You might have a little enterprise opportunity for ya there. I bet opening up a Line-X shop could be quite lucrative in Houston.

I get my truck back in a few hours, I will hopefully have time to take pictures and post them before I go to work.

my truck came in with scratches in the bed. after the sales manager got done downplaying them "hmm ya some light scratches" he finally offered me two options

1) have the body shop fix it for me for free
2) go half way with me on a line-x liner

now, i was sitting there (with an expression on my face that i think fell just perfectly between annoyed and thoughtful) thinking that, since i except my bed to get scratched by use, id rather just get some money off the bottom line.

then the sm asked me if had been planning on getting a liner anyway, which i hadn't - so i said so... but he must have thought i was playing hard ball because eventually he came back with 'i talked to the head honcho, and he says we can go the whole way on the liner'

so i convinced myself that the lifetime warranty and scratch free bed was worth more than what i might haggle off the bottom line... so i got the liner, and i do quite love it especially since it was free
