Default Loving the VLED LPF back up light!!!

I bought the new VLED LPF license plate back up light, that puts out 3500 lumens and is fully submerge-able, and fits either above or below your license plate and IT. IS. AWESOME! I highly recommend.

The construction is VERY high quality. VLED made an LPF a few years ago that was plastic and cheap that only put out 1500 lumens. This is MUCH better than the old one.

See the pics below. I can see everything through my 20% window tint. I don't have a backup camera, but I'm planning on adding one.

Looking at the website, it says it has a timer to reduce the output after a certain length of time to prevent damage. Have you noticed this?

It's definitely better than the last one they made and I'm glad you're happy with it but damn that's expensive for what it is. For another $10 you can get a pair of Rigids. I will admit that the plate light is more discreet though and would blend in better. It does seem to throw a lot of light too.

haven't noticed the timer, but it has been shutting off all my reverse lights. it just started happening... something doesn' t seem right. basically the lights will come on and after about 10-20 seconds the lights will turn off. i have 194 5k lights to match in the factory reverse sockets. i will call VLEDS tomorrow to see if they can help troubleshoot. hopefully this doesn't fry something due to drawing too much current.

i will update the thread after my call tomorrow.

The directions say some plates need a hole drilled to make room for the wire.
I had a wrangler that would only fit a micro small plate frame..I had to trim the plate to fit.... local cop told me not to do it again...said its a felony to alter a plate.. I guess it varies by state... if anything...do this in a garage!

This design looks very nice and a definite improvement of the 1st gen that I have. But damn $150!

UPDATE!

ran a cable from the battery back with a fuse for power, and pulling the signal from the backup lights. PROBLEM SOLVED! back to loving the product!

apparently the BCM was shutting down power when i powered the LPF from the backup lights.
