Default Love the RAS

Below is a picture of an old camper we just bought to fix up and permanently put it on our property in central Florida. It's 7,800 dry and has a ton of tongue weight - don't know what it is. I have the Active Suspension on and is sags to level - without ANY weight distribution system. I towed it about 15 miles in the city with no problem.

My buddy hooked it up to his 06 F150 4WD and is sagged like a *****.

The RAS definitely makes a huge difference.

Will be towing it to our property (about 200 miles) this weekend to set it up. I'll let you know how that worked on the highway - prolly no more then 55mph.

Out of curiosity, did the front end of your truck rise up at all?

I have considered the RAS myself. I am wondering if it makes the ride any more harsh or stiffer when you aren't towing? How would you describe the difference with and without it in reference to normal driving? Nice camper by the way.

I didn't think so but, it sure looks like it did. I'll have to measure it before we leave tomorrow.

Depending on how you set the springs... it makes no difference in the ride when empty.

Thanks for the camper comment.

Your truck looks like it'll handle it with ease!

I'm looking to do the 2" shackle drop on my FX2, but wondering if the RAS could be installed with it, and if it raises the tailgate height (counteracting my reason to lower). I'm loading & unloading furniture all the time, so that little bit of extra height is sometimes just out of my liftable reach (especially with some of this gawdforsaken heavy MDF crap). I don't mind the ride of mine when there's at least 500# in the bed, otherwise it's too jouncy... I'm hearing the RAS really smooths out the shuddering-over-bumps when unloaded.

I installed the RAS on my '12 ecoscrew 157"wb 4x4 a couple weeks ago. I used the 2mm setting. It did raise the rear about an inch but it actually rides better than before. I haven't had a chance to tow with it yet but I've haulled a few 500-600lb loads and the truck doesn't sag at all. The real reason I installed it was for the take-off shutter and so far it has cured that.
