Default Love my lil engine!

Just had to say it. I love my 4.6 3V! Plenty of power for me and what I call good fuel milage for a beast this size. Got 20.5 on the way down to pigeon forge this weekend bout 125 miles. Just rolled over 31000 and still lovin it! Remember....... Dont hate the player hate the game.

I love mine also. I don't get the mileage because I went a little bigger on the tires and lost 2 to 3 mpg. I have pulled a few Bobcats 325 I think with no problem also hauled 3400 pounds of top soil a few times. I have almost 60,000 on mine no problems at all

Same here! My Mileage is around yours too. Only issue was third brake light leak and a clogged PCV. All fixed next day no questions asked at Brandon Ford in Tampa! Have hauled over 7000lbs and got 13.5 mpg which i think was pretty damn good. I also got 26mpg on a 130 mile trek down from homestead to key west hand calculated.

Mine is at 59k, and I couldn't ask for a better truck. I usually trade in every 2 years but I'm keeping this one for a long time. Great engine

Love mine as well. Haven't towed anything yet, so I can't speak as to what kind of mileage I will get then. I am getting close to 21mpg hwy, hand calculated, on road trips. Can't complain with a vehicle this size.

I am SO on this bandwagon!

2009 XLT SCREW 4x4 4.6 3V 3.73 bought new in May of 2009. Now 38K with zero engine and tranny problems. Has done everything I asked it to without complaint including pulling a 4,500 lb boat and trailer. I once got 26 MPG on a 60 mile trip on flat ground keeping it between 60 and 65 on OEM wheels and tires (Had my mother in the truck). With Raptor wheels, 33" E rated Zeons and a Bilstein level, I can still get 22 MPG on flat ground if I keep it at 65. I'm keeping this baby until one of us croaks.

i wouldn't have an issue owning a 4.6..I have actually never heard of any serious issues with them and I've seen them run to 400,000km with regular maintenance.

I wish I had looked for a 4.6 3v truck a little bit harder before I bought my 5.0.
dont get me wrong, I LOVE my Coyote and dont think I could own a truck with anything less now. but the 4.6 3v is a damn good engine and I loved it in my stang. I think I could have gotten a lot more truck for the price I paid for my coyote reg cab stx and been getting very similar mpg (which was a huge deal for me when I was in the market)
I dont regret what I bought one bit, but I should have had a little more of an open mind when buying.

I had a 4.6 3v and now run a 5.0 both with 3.73's. 4.6 is a great motor, the biggest different I notices is in the torque. Pulling a trailer on interstate at 70 the 5.0 does a lot less downshifting in the hills. Not a lot of different in mileage. Don't get me wrong 4.6 is a snappy, very reliable motor.

I believe it was the 2V 4.6 that they used in the P71's for eon's? Redlining the sh*t out of them and thousands of hours of idle time while never skipping a beat..yeah the 4.6 was a masterpiece in terms of reliability and the 3V was no exception.
