I would be interested in trading the chrome caps off of my 09 Black Platinum for a set of black caps. I just have to get the guts up to mess with taking the mirror apart.

You really do not have to remove the mirror. I recently swapped out my chrome caps for black ones using some cheap plastic putty knives. They were soft and flexible enough to pry off the caps without damaging anything at all. Took about 10 minutes.

how about some detailed info on how to do the swap it seems others have broken their mirrors doing the swap
