Default Looking for Ford Part number cross reference.

Please help. Lol. Anyone here familiar enough with what Ford parts will interchange? I bought a flex-plate for my 2011 F150, XLT, Scab, 2wd, with a 3.7. The part # my local Ford dealer sold me is (LC2Z-6375-A). I pulled the transmission today and the flex-plate that I removed from the truck looks similar. The ring gear seems to be the same. What has me concerned is when I search the part # it shows it fits F 150 with a 6,2 engine. From what I can find the part # I should have is (BL3Z-6375-A). I really would like to put this truck back together tomorrow. But I can't find any cross-reference information on the web to say that this part will work. Thanks in advance for any information.

Since you have them both, you should be able to compare closely side by side. For something simple like the flex plate, that should answer the question. You said "similar" and "seems", which doesn't sound confident, or is that just Midwest non-aggression?

My guess is that they are different parts. Many times an older part will be superseded by a newer part and/or part number, and the older part and/or part number aren't available anymore.

that doesn't seem to be the case here, both parts and numbers seem current, plus the 60% price difference (above link).

Default So what purpose do the holes circled serve?

Hello everyone, So, I am back to obsessing about this flex-plate. The only difference I can find is the holes that have been stamped out that are circled in the picture. Anyone know what these holes do? Should I throw caution to the wind and run with it?

"Should I throw caution to the wind and run with it?"

Sounds like you've made up your mind, go for it and report back.

BUT the evidence we've posted above does sound like there is a difference.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your input. I am not going to install this part today, I will take this back to Ford tomorrow to get the correct part,
