Default Looking for advice - lift kit

Hi All,

I am little for a little bit of advice. I have a 2013 f150 platinum and wanting to put a little lift on it. Maybe 3 inches. 4 at the most. Would you recommend a suspension lift or leveling kit. Or what would be the best thing to do. I don't want to sacrifice the ride. Still want it to be comfortable. We take this truck if we go on road trips. I'm just tired of it sitting so low. . Just want it a little bit higher and look nice.

I have had a 4" Rancho lift on my '11 Platinum since 12,000 miles. I'm now at 113,000. While I've had zero trouble and it looks great, I'd give anything for it to be back to stock. No matter what anyone tells you, it will never ride as well as it did stock. If only for the fact that you will be moving to 35's most likely and they are only available in E rated. Your mileage will suffer and you will lose performance. I regeared and that helped a great deal, but it was expensive. Its your money and truck, so do what you want. This is just advise from someone who has been there and done that.

What's the budget? Who will be installing? What kind of driving will you be doing? Planning on new wheels and tires?

Thanks for the response. That is definitely something to think about.

I went with a 2.5" level and then a 4" lift. The 4" rides better and I love it.

A lift or a level will ride very similar to stock. Tires make the most difference in your ride quality. If you want the best ride possible try a mild AT tire, or just find larger street tires, depending on what you're looking to do. If you go with a mud tire, they will ride worse than an all terrain.

I'd go with the 4" lift kit if you have the $. Mine was about $2000 installed, kit & everything.

I just installed coilovers that gave me a 3 inch lift - couldn't ask for a better ride. I recommend coil overs if you can swing it.

I am thinking about getting it installed at 4wheelparts. I will not be doing it myself.

As of right now I don't have a budget. I am saving up now. So I am willing to spend a decent amount, but not an excessive amount. I will mainly be doing street driving. Will probably do some off road, but not a lot. and it wouldn't be like trail driving or anything, it would just be like back roads and fields, etc. Driving to hunting clubs and things like that.

I am planning on new wheels and tires as well. I know what wheels I am going to get, but not sure on the tires. Also, I pull boats all the time. I plan on getting a bigger boat in the future so whatever I do I need it to still be able to pull with no problems.

Thanks.

I was originally thinking 4" but thought it would be a little much. Now I am leaning towards it again.

Sure, I am open to pretty much anything. I am new when it comes to any mods on my truck so not sure what those are...but google is always a good place to start .

What is the avg price for those?
