Looking At a 2014 FX4 28,000 miles

Anybody with a pulse and half a brain was getting '14s back in the day for between 12-15k off of sticker. Remember the inventories and the 15's coming in? My '14 had a sticker of 47600 and I got it out the door for 33800 with 7% tax. Even if that thing stickered for 50k anybody with a little perseverance and the ability to walk away from the deal could have gotten it for 35k. How much was the original sticker? '14 was one of the best times in modern history to buy a pickup. rebates, unbelievable inventory, and a truly new vehicle coming out that made them less desirable and a very good deal.

this isn't 14 anymore and rebates and incentives don't lower the value of a vehicle. The 13/14s are still bringing good money bc some ppl don't like the 15s. I'm not saying it's a great deal on the truck. I'm saying it's preposterous to say it wasn't that much new. Original sticker was low 50s. Fx4s weren't going for less than 40 with that trim Pckg.

Don't feel bad. I said you had you had to have a pulse in '14. lots of people got screwed back then to. fx4's were going for less than 40 when new- I promise you. So lets say you paid 42 when new, OUCH! Don't you think the fact this thing has 28000 miles counts for more than 5k in depreciation? Leave it alone and get more savvy in your negotiations. I hate trump but maybe you should read the art of the deal????? And don't kid yourself-everybody likes the 15-16's

I don't feel bad. Your obviously a much better negotiator than me. I can assure you not everyone likes the new gen f150. I can't speak on what trucks were going for in your part of the world, but I can tell you due to the fact that I bought my 13 at the end of the year, they were not going for less than 40. Once more I will say that I didn't argue that it's a good deal, or great deal. But it's in line with the book value of the truck.

Who do you think creates "book value"? I'm sorry for being an ***. I almost bought a '13 but lost interest for awhile. When the '14s came out the deals were incredible. We are good, but I can't imagine paying that much for a used pickup. I agree that '13s probably cost more than I said the '14s did. I think ford got a little scared with getting rid of the '14s. Anyway we both love our trucks!!!!

MSRP not retail creates book value, bc retails differ. MSRP doesn't. I know ford slashed prices in 14. My mom picked up a screw 2wd xlt for just over $26k. I think it was bc they had so many sitting on the lots, and were worried they wouldn't sell once the 15s came out. And I think they were prolly right with the lower option models. But the lariats/fx4/platinums/limiteds would have sold, and weren't marked down as much. I wish I had been in the market in mid 2014. I could have saved myself a cpl thousand. But I got a good deal on my truck, and that's all I could ask for. No worries, I hope you enjoy your truck, and the fact you got it for a song. Just don't rub it in too much.
