Looking at a 2011-14, any input?
Quick question for you F-150 guys. First and foremost, would you buy your truck over again? Any issues that would make you rethink your decision? Would you have rather a different engine than the one you have? I currently have a '06 6.0 KR and I'm looking to get rid of it for something new and nicer. I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to the 2011-16 Superduty or if I want to go to a 2011-14 F-150. I don't need a diesel and truth be told I really don't even need a truck but I just like to drive trucks. Also just out of curiosity, what kind of fuel mileage are you guys getting? Any mods that are affecting you mileage?
I'm mainly looking for a Platinum, but wouldn't mind looking at another KR. My only issue with my KR is the seats take SOOO much maintenance, did Ford change anything to the KR seats to make them require less maintenance or should I stick with trying to find a Platinum or a well optioned Lariat?

I bought a '13 FX4 5.0 Screw 6.5 bed just over a year ago and if I had to do it again I'd buy the same truck. Maybe a '14 just because, you know, it's newer. I love it. I wasn't interested in the lariat, platinum, KR, or limited, I specifically wanted the FX4.
With stock tires I was probably getting 15-16 mpg, but I'm not easy on the skinny pedal. I am now tuned and have 34" tires on and get between 13-14 mpg, but again I drive it like I stole it.
I also like the interior of my FX4 w/ luxury package better than the lariat. I still have console shifter, heated and cooled seats, leather, 8" screen, sony sound system, etc etc. The wood grain wasn't appealing to me. I can live without power running boards, heated rear seats (rarely have more than 1 passenger anyway), don't want 22" wheels, and can live without the large platinum tailgate, and I really like the look of the smoked headlights and tail lights on the FX4

I would also do the same. It's been 2 years and 1 month, very happy. I specifically looked for an FX4 with appearance package to get the cloth/leather combo seats.
Possible changes: 2014. 6.2L engine. Try to find higher payload rating.
Don't really care about any of those things, though. 13 and 14 are the sweet spot.

Thanks guys, only reason the FX4 is out of the question for me is because of the suede insert. I like leather that is easy to clean lol. With 2 German Shepherds I would prefer to have leather or vinyl seats with the vinyl floors.

I love my truck, but if I had it to do over again I'd probably shop around more for a FX4. I like the leather interior and locking differential and skid plates. And the body color exterior trim is much nicer than chrome.

This is my first ford and barring anything major going wrong with it, I will be buying another.

I bought my 2014 SuperCrew 4X4 used almost 2 years ago. No regrets at all. I have the 5.0 V-8 and over the 2 years, and almost 30,000 miles I'm showing 16.7 mpg average. On the road, staying within the speed limits and unloaded I'm normally in the upper 18's or lower 19's. I've gotten 20 mpg a couple of times under ideal conditions. Normal daily driving is usually in the 16's and when towing 13-15 mpg. I don't tow heavy loads, 2000-4000 lbs normally.
Truck is basically stock. I replaced the factory tires with a slightly taller (1/2") All Terrain tire which had no measurable effect on performance or fuel mileage.

I have a 2013 FX2 with the 6.2, and believe it or not the Rottie fur comes right off the Alcantara inserts, easier than the cloth seats in my 03 XLT.
BTW 16.5-17 Highway and 13.0-14.5 mixed.
I just wish I had bought it new and/or found in in Sterling Grey Metalic. Have I told you I hate Black vehicles

My FX4 doesn't have suede. It has the 402 luxury package but no appearance package. Same all black leather seats you'd find in a Lariat

If buying a 5.0, I'd recommend searching for a truck equipped with 3.73's and probably a 2014. It seems this year model did not suffer from the notorious tick that a lot of 5.0's have, including mine. Although mine is still running strong at 65k.
