I know it gives you a little extra security to put a locking fuel plug in ,but there is not much anyone can do to hurt your fuel line anymore the new trucks have a fail safe that will not allow fuel to be siphoned out ,you would have to cut the fuel line .There is not much that a joker can put in the tank -sugar is not going to hurt anything lol. They say one of the worst things someone can put in your tank of all things is bleach.

Put the key in and turn it to the unlock position.

Put plug in hole. (only goes in one way)

Turn key to the lock position.

Pull key out.

When I received my plug it was missing the part that locks to the inside of the fuel neck. I had to have a new one sent to me. Check that out too.

Yes.

With the key slot in the vertical position locked and in the horizontal position unlocked.

Question - did the fuel plug come with your truck or did you purchase it? I ask because my new '12 does not have one...

Thanks

Matt

Matt, you probably have to order one if it's like the '11, and I'm sure it's the same.
