Default LineX bed liner chips

I bought a 2011 FX4 about two months ago and the original owner had a LineX spray in bed liner already installed. Today I picked up a load of driveway gravel and when I was sweeping the bed out I noticed 3 chips in the liner a little bigger than a quarter. Has anyone had experience with LineX, will they warranty it for me even though I'm not the one who had it installed? It could be no more than two years old and I watched the guy put the stone in and I got it out by shovel there was nothing unusual about it or that should have chipped it.

It shouldn't chip....don't know if line-x would warranty it but it probably wouldn't be expensive to have it touched up...

Should have a lifetime warranty on it against peels or chips.

Line-X has a lifetime warranty. Take it to any Line-X dealer and they should repair at no charge.

I recently had my truck sprayed with premium and have the Warranty Certificate in my glove box, so I went and grabbed it out of the truck. Here is some of what it says:

"The warranty applies to the original LINE-X purchaser and is NOT transferable."

"In the unlikely event that the LINE-X Spray-On Truck Bedliner does crack, bubble, or flake, as the original purchaser, simply take the vehicle, this LINE-X Warranty Certificate and the original receipt to the LINE-X Authorized Dealer that applied your LINE-X Spray-On Truck Bedliner for repair at no cost to you."

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I hope that helps some. Sounds like a bad prep job by the shop who sprayed it. Can probably get it touched up though. Let us know how it turns out and good luck!

I don't have no receipt, but the guy that installed mine did register me and the truck on the site.

I have the premium Line X bed liner and the guys told me that the warranty is registered with the VIN so it can be transferable.

That's interesting. My post above was directly from my receipt and warranty certificate. On that certificate, the LINE-X dealer filled in the info for the Authorized Dealer that did the spray, my name and other info, as well as the VIN and vehicle info. So yes, it is registered with the VIN, as well as with the original purchaser's information. Did you not get a warranty certificate? I much prefer something in writing over what someone at a shop says, especially with a warranty.

See the link below for what my warranty certificate looks like. Based on what my warranty certificate says, in writing, the warranty is NOT transferable. That's not to say that some dealers would not cover repairs to a liner they sprayed. Some may, but I'd find it especially difficult to believe one dealer would fix a liner sprayed at another dealer without the warranty meeting all the criteria (ex: original purchaser) listed on the warranty terms.

I had to have my entire bed redone a couple of years ago. The shop that did it went out of business. I went to the next closest one, and they didn't even bat an eye lash. Scheduled an appointment, picked it up and didn't have any further issues. Apparently the shop that did mine originally, did zero prep work, the old liner just pealed right off, the paint underneath looked brand new (zero prep work). The shop that redid it told me that it's a Line-X so it's always covered under their warranty.
