Default Line-x on side steps...

Has anybody had the side steps sprayed with Line-x? I have the Ford OEM "chrome" with the black step. Does anyone have pictures? I talked to the local Line-x and they quoted $200.00. Is that a good price?

I was wondering about LineX-ing the power boards on my platinum. There is a spot right under the driver door that has worn through the paint on the boards due to people stepping in and out. Has anyone else tried it?

MurphM---I did just that! And I did it for pennies! On my 2010 platinum that damned thin black paint had worn off where I always step in and out. I made up my mind that it wasn't happening again. I went to Walmart and bought two of the spray cans of spray in bed liner--generic LineX. Took the running boards off. Just two big allen hex screws on each end hold them on. Scrubbed them with the green scrubber for teflon pans to clean them. Taped them off with painter's tape and used one can on each running board. Dried smooth just like the black paint already on them. Did it last June right after getting it and there is NO wear yet! Best 16 dollars I ever spent. Still look just like new OEM!!

Have over 17K miles on them!

Here you go https://www.f150forum.com/f38/painte...-boards-93073/ they've held up pretty good so far. Only had to touch up the edges of the plastic covers since I wasn't able to remove mine.

I want to do this to mine but only on the plastic steps just to get more grip so I don't slip off the damn thing. I like the chrome though and wouldn't want to cover it
