Line-X and Bed Extender
Do any of you guys have a line-x and the bed extender? I just got it done and the bed extender does not match the locking holes in the none extended position.
That's not even the worse part. The guy decided to put my truck in 4hi and drive on the dry pavement. I put it back in 2 and it was still binding for about 20 feet. And later when I was putting it in drive from park. There was some resistance to shift out of park. I'll be calling the manager tomorrow as they were gone when I found out the guy in the shop was playing around in my truck.

I am glad I read this very helpful post I found by searching the forum, and was just curious if others have trimmed the rubber bumpers without any issues.
On a similar but different side note, and yes I know there are other threads with this topic, but when getting Line-X can you comment if you have tailgate step and if you had them spray under tailgate plastic, and if that turned out good and would you do it again or not?
Thanks!
maybe this is a dumb question, but how do the bed extenders line up when a plastic bed liner is installed? wouldnt it be the same issue? I ask cause the dealer tries to sell the bed liner and the extender is also available.
I picked up my new 2010 King Ranch last night. Custom ordered, so waited about a month to get it. What a sweet ride it is...unbelievable...way smoother then any test drives I took.
I looked at my bed extender, and the rubber feet at the bottom of the bed extender are removable. You have to wiggle them a bit with some gentle force but they will come off. This will easily gain the needed clearance for a spray-in liner, and likely for the drop-in liner as well. I think it will even work with a spray-in and a rubber mat on top of the spray-in, which is what I am planning to do so the bed is softer when crawling around it on my knees. In fact, I think what I am planning to do may be a perfect height once the rubber feet are removed.
I suggest taking off your rubber feet and see if it solves an existing problem you have, or to get a feel for the extra clearance for something underneath it. I would only remove two of the four feet from each side--the ones that are on the bottom when it is in the stowed position.
I think removing the feet seems more logical to me then cutting them down; however, if you already have a problem might as well try shaving them down a bit if the height is not right after removing them, or consider figuring out another way to add a little height where the feet used to be.
Hope this is helpful.

I don't have a spray in liner or drop in liner. I do use the Ford bed mat along with the bed extender for my atv. I took the rubber feet off the side that rest on the mat. The extender locks in perfectly without the rubber feet.
