I doubt they will fix the issue really. But $50K MSRP should have a little bit more attention to detail.

I will however use that analogy regarding painting his house next time that is brought up. Thanks!

Took my 2 week old 2011 to the dealer to show them the problem. They got approval from Ford for them to do a re paint and match on the grill.

Seems amazing that the dealer would have to contact Ford, one would think that it would be covered under or by the bumper to bumper warranty....

Ford is the manufacturer and covers the warranty service provided by the dealer. Though some dealerships may choose to cover things themselves in the interest of customer service, if they can bill a warranty call back to Ford, they would every time.

It makes sense though. If I owned a business and I could get a manufacturer to pay for a fix I would pursue that first. If Ford then came back saying they wouldn't cover the fix then it is up the the dealer to extend their customer service capabilities and blow off the customer or take care of it out of the dealerships pocket.

Thing is the Service Manager or writers could give a **** less if you will be a returning customer. The GM or sales associates are the ones who care.

How long did you have to wait to hear? I still have not heard from the dealership.

Absolutely.. The service guys know they will never run out of stuff to fix, it's the way things are built nowadays

The GM and sales teams....they can always use more customers

Update,

All over my grille the black is coming off and exposing white beneath it. They painted flat black over the clear coated white it seems.

Bugs are causing the black to come off quick. I don't have any photos but I will try to get a few.

Service manager called and said they have ordered a new Grille that Ford is paying for.

I guess it will come painted, but if they used the same method of painting this will happen again, and I will go back and make them fix it.

If anyone else has a painted grille I would check it out and have it looked at.

I had the same issue on my 11 SCREW but it's between the bed and the cab. I have the two tone paint job and in the gap between the bed and cab there is a ridiculous amount of overspray. I just got an answer back from the dealership and they finally got approval from Ford to pull off bed and repaint the back on the truck. Also they will be replacing all of the mounts when the bed is replaced so I don't hear any squeaks after install. Ticks me off that a $50k truck has such a poor paint job.....GRRRRRRRRRR!
