Default Lights with ecoboost

I am looking into getting rigid 20' led bar and put it in the lower bumper gap. But i have heard of some people saying that this decreases airflow into the intake which results in engine power loss....
Is this true, and if so how much of a difference did you notice??

Putting someting in the space in the middle of the bumper decreases airflow through the intercooler. Ford doens't like this and threatens to void warranties, even though they restricted the flow to resolve condensation issues.

Only thing you should be putting there is boost bars or other forms of lower intake grilles made for the EcoBoost. I have boost bars on the way. If you look in the gap you can see the intake... Don't block it

One of the fixes for the CAC partially blocks that area. Also, there are quite a few trucks out there that people put lights, and even winches there and have not had issues with their ecoboost. I don't think they restrict airflow that drastically. I would have no issues putting something there and plan to put some lights eventually, if I don't change my bumper to something like what addictive desert designs offers.

You have the ecoboost? I really want to put a 12" bar down there but want to make sure it won't hinder the ecoboost function.

I don't see why you'd like to do this. You will void your warranty which is definitely nice to have with this engine. No problems with mine yet but there are quite a few of them often reported so I don't see why you want to take the chance. I'm mounting 2 duallys in the fog position and under the rear bumper, a behind grille 30, and eventually a 50 roof. There's so many different sizes and styles you can put in different places there is no reason to risk putting it in front of the inter cooler.

20 inch or 20 feet

i have a nice grill filler from amazon 37 and its pretty aerodynamic and cuts dragon flies in half at speed

doubt they restrict airflow in the magnitude that would effect cooling of the charged air

If we're moving onto filler I recommend boost bars as shown on mine. Look OEM all my friends think it's from factory. If we're getting into that bring it to the filler thread
