And btw im hapilly stuck with my 5.4. And just think about what your stating a 6.2l v8 having the same mpg as a 5.4l v8 from the same brand (ford)! theres no way. and like norcal-9 said maybe it could have comparable mpg to the 5.4 but theres no way that it is way better in fuel economy than the 5.4 just because its a bigger engine.
ok, I have a 6.2L lariat with the 3.73...that is probably very different than the Raptor fuel mileage wise. I do not know much about the Raptor. My comments are in regards to what I own.

As for comparing to a 2010 5.4L, I couldn't care less about that. A 2010 is not what I used to own. I was merely stating that my previous 2008 5.4L did not do as well for fuel mileage as my new 2011 6.2L lariat. I get the 4 speed vs 6 speed thing and all...but I can only compare what I had previous to what I now have in terms of how much gas I am buying.

You guys did make a good point...so in fairness, to state it more precisely:

My new 2011 6.2L Screw Lariat (6 speed tranny/3.73) does better MPG than my previous 2008 5.4L Screw FX4 (4 speed tranny/3.73). That is a fact in my world.

Also, to the other dudes who are skeptical, so sorry you all may also be stuck with the 5.4L, but again, listen up now because I have owned the 5.4L and now own the 6.2L and can say that it does INDEED get better mileage than the 5.4L. I don't give a flying f#$% what the sticker says.

I am averaging 17.423 mpg with the 6.2L....better than what I ever had with my old 2008 5.4L.

Listen slick,

There is nothing that pisses me off more, than someone who is obviously at least 30 years younger than me, fu@k$ng addressing me as "Dude"!!

And yes, the 2008 is apples and oranges to the '09-'11 series!

Lol norcal-9 hahah someone is pissed off lol....ok rrsp you finally said something with sense, there you go and yes i believe that is true a 5.4lv8 with a 4 speed transmision of course is going to get worse mpg than a 6.2lv8 with 6 speed transmision.

Those kits are hideous. It's just peel and stick that goes over top of the dash. Doesn't matter if it's real wood or simulated. Someone put one in my Volvo, first thing I did was rip it out.
I don't care how good a kit it is you can still tell it's just a sticker.
If you're going to change it do it right.

Granite, I just got off the phone with ProTrim, Inc to inquire about the kits. They advised me that Sherwood Dash Kits are NOT meant to be applied to any existing factory installed wood trims. They will not cover it all and you will see the edges of the original. Its only meant for vehicle with nothing on the dash.

Bummer, cause I'm back to square one with the Lariat decison. I got my hopes high....

The OP, my friend from sunny Calexico was not upset over the limited high-jack of his thread, so why are you getting your panties all bunched up!!??

Take your indignation and save it for your own threads. Most of us here don't get upset over a little side-bar excursion from the main topic of a thread; it just happens sometimes.

well said norcal!!. @firesapple I dont see maybe they misunderstanded you because the picture for the 2009-current lariat they have looks great maybe they meant on real wood?... and if they dont I would ask ford if they could sell me a fx dash since that one is all grey i would put it on my truck and then put the kit on top . Ill see if i can ge ta hold of sherwood and ask them some questions also.
