Leveling / Wheels / Tires Question...
I feel bad for asking about my personal situation, as I feel I have read all of the other posts from others, and I should have been able to educate myself by now...and maybe I am over reacting after talking to some yahoo over the phone when I attempted to order some new wheels.
Here is what I want to do to my '09 F150 XLT Screw...
Install 2" Readylift leveling kit...
Pro Comp #6098 Wheels (18 x 9, 6x135, 0 offset)
BF Goodrich AT KO's (275 x 65 x 18)
The guy on the phone said that I can't put the wheels on, as they need to be between +45 and +18 offset...
yet, I go to Tirerack.com, and for a wheel of comparable dimensions, side/width/bolt/offset, they recommend the same tire I want to get...
Am I crazy here, or did the ******** not take in to account I am leveling the truck...
Any assistance is greatly appreciated...any Merry Christmas to all!!

ok, like you said, this has been gone over before on here. but let me see if i can help you. is your truck 2wd or 4wd? either way, those tires will actually fit without a level kit. the tires size you listed is right at 32" tall. i personally have 265/70/18 on an unleveled 2wd on my stock wheels and i don't have any rubbing issues at all. my tires measure at 32.6". now, with a 0 offset the wheels will sit our farther than what the factory wheels do. meaning your tires may stick out of the fenderwell. i think there is a member on here actually with a 2wd with 18's and 0 offset and 285/65/18's and he doesn't have any issues if i remember correctly. i researched tires sizes for what seemed like forever before i bought mine. there is very useful information on these forums concerning this as well. but in my honest opinion, i think you would be fine with the setup you speak of.
You will be perfectly fine dude!
As some companies can only sell with in factory paramaters based off of their sales systems. Its dumb i know but some companies run that way as some people who work for them dont understand what offsets and backspacing really are and do.
2" level +o offset with that size tire consider it done and order!

@10Supercab...it is a 4x4...i appreciate your advice, and i am pretty sure I have seen the guys truck you are referring to...I have been researching this for a while, and have been sitting on my wallet as long as I can...
@torip...you are probably right, I just got puzzled when this clown tried to tell me it wouldnt work, and me knowing that I had seen countless other trucks on here with more aggressive numbers, and they still reported no rubbing...
thanks again fellas....

Hey bro. I would really consider going up to 275/70 or 285/65R18. I bought new tires and stayed with 275/65's and wish I would have gone bigger. Just my two cents. Plus with the level you can run much bigger.
Good point, you can actually go bigger like mentioned here but if you go with the 0 offset that may limit the tire size you can run without rubbing. I went through this exact same thing but with 17" wheels on my 2009.
I purchased some ATX Craters in 17x9 and they had a 0 offset. I had a 1-1/2 leveling kit and could only get 275/70/17s without rubbing. The shop tried 285/70/17s but they would rub. I sold the tires & wheels 6 months later and went back to the stock wheels but in 18" and very happy with it. I just need bigger tires now.
I will admit the 0 offset wheels look great to me, especially with the 9" width. The link below has a nice tool for showing what's actually happening with different wheel offsets.

I might as well ask my question as well then...lol
I have stock 245/70R17 on my 2008 F150 XLT 4x4. If i wanted to go to an 18" rim, what would be my biggest tire size I could go without leveling? Thanks in advance

demolition - 275/65/18 would work no problem
tex - look for a poly kit where you seperate the strut assembly and it resets the shock to factory spec traveling. I had one on my 2008 lariat and had no problem with it. Alot of kits are just a spacer with no strut disassembly required which may cause the shock being fully extended
