Ok,
I've exhausted my means of searching the unavoidable "biggest tires on a level kit" threads...I've had leveling kits in the past. One thing that bothers me is it seems guys with 2.0-2.5" kits have rubbing issues...now this is just simple physics but just an observation. Trucks with stock configuration, their front tires stick out further than those with leveling kits due to the angle of the UCA/LCA..it tends to pull them in tighter inside the wheel well. Thinking that maybe settling with a shorter kit I could alleviate the rubbing issue....so...I settled on an 1.5" level from motofab...and hoping either 295/55/20 or 305/55/20 will remain without any rubbing with stock FX4 20's...does anyone else run a 1.5" MotoFab leveling kit? If so...what is your setup. I don't want 35's..been there done that..never again. I'm settled on 33's or 33.5's...I'm just bored with the 275/55/20 Cooper ATP's I guess. Here are a few pics with the ATP's currently...minus the brush guard since that's a new addition.
I am running a 1.5" lift using Bilstein 5100's and am running 34x11x17 or 285/75r17. It did rub on the front valence so trimmed that and pulled the rear of the front inner fender liner back with a zip tie to clear lock to lock. My wheels are 8.5" wide with 0 offset as well so it actually helped a bit in my case I think.
LT305x55x20 Nitto Terragrapplers at stock height on the 2011 4x4 I had. Used stock wheels so the tires were close to the upper control arm but no rubbing...I later leveled the truck but it made no difference in clearance.
I'm running an AS 1.5" level kit on my 2014 FX4, with Cooper STT Pro 295/60r20's on my stock 20" FX wheels. No rubbing on the fender wells, front valence, etc. However, due to the sidewall lugs, when I turn to full lock either way, there is some very slight rubbing on the UCA, but just enough that you can feel it in the steering wheel. It doesn't make any real noise though, and it's never an issue.
Thanks for posting this. I have the same truck and this is what I'm shooting for!!!! Nice.........
