You are correct this is exactly what happens.

They do but its a 50/50 shot on people still having this issue it seems. My 05 i had a 2" a.s. and one side did it bad the other never did..

Could be an install issue, they are slightly offset and need to be facing the proper direction.

One other issue i noticed. My 05 was an fx4 and the control arm always rubbed slightly with suspension hang, my boss had an 06 xlt with the same kit but it never touched..

I think possibly the springs on some models are alittle stiffer, and alittle bigger around just enough to make this an issue with some and not with others.

So there is no need to be concerned about the noise? No damage is being done?

I did the install myself in 1.5 hours on my 05 with a freind of mine in his garage. We rechecked everything and took our time. So I was 100% comfortable and for the 3 years i had the truck after i had no issues. Theres not much you can do with the upper control arm slighjtly hitting the strut spring with suspension hang and the upper control arm is small and not designed to be pushed so far down.
It wasnt a big deal though and caused no issues in the three years i had it on. I was content knowing i did the install myself and knew how it all went together and that it was checked and re-checked and properly torqued.

Default Strut Dust Sleeve cracked and wedged after leveling kit installed

Just had my 2010 FX4 leveled with a 2.5" AutoSpring kit and my Strut Dust Boots/ Sleeves are now all cracked and wedged awkwardly against the strut.

Additionally, I get an extended, low-pitched growling/ ratcheting sound on the REBOUND of a bump or dip while turning left. I also get the sound when doing left circles (as in a cul-de-sac).

The shop that did the install is stumped, and doesn't know what to do.

Anybody have any clue what's going on here?
