Default Leveling kit problems?

I am considering putting a leveling kit on my 2012 ecoboost soon. Do some occasional careful off road driving but mostly on road. I have seen one person complain about ball joints going bad with the leveling kit but has anyone else had problems? I see plenty of happy posts about leveling kits but would like to know the other side of the coin. Also how bad would it look with the stock size tires? Thanks for the info!

Go with a 2 or 2.5 and it will not hurt your ball joints...your truck will look better either way IMO

I tried a search and didn't find much either. I'm thinking about the same thing but want stock reliability. Plus info on if they're are better levels than others. I've looked a few up and I'm looking at 2 inch. I agree the trucks look better with a level. If you level it 2 inches does it raise the truck 2 inches overall? I have a garage that is under my house and I'm not to far from hitting the opener. Sorry to take over the thread but maybe these are some of the same questions the OP has. Thanks

You'll be fine with a 2 or 2.5. Your balljoints will wear a little faster, but nothing catastrophic if its installed and aligned correctly, and possibly not at all if its a street queen. If I'm correct, the user with balljoint problems did some serious off roading for work- and that's what produced the problem. That being said, offroading a stock truck will eventually produce that problem as well. They aren't designed to be rock crawlers
Stock rubber will look just fine IMO, and I suspect that putting huge crazy-*** heavy rubber will cause more joint problems down the line than a level.

Just be mindful of the droop limits and have your alignment checked every once in a while and enjoy it

To match the "shudder" threads, and "5.0 towing threads", and "my lift is better than your lift" threads and so on.

Thanks for saying it. It seems a lot of things are repeats but most on here are willing to help out with the questions. If it upsets others they really don't have to participate on that subject matter. Keep up the info

Yes I did. I am not new to forums as I spent many years on powerstroke forums. As I said in my original post, I found many happy posts and threads about them, but none talking about specific problems. None answered my question. Thanks though.
