Default Leveling Kit-which brand??

I'm sure this has been discussed before but i searched and could not find a thread that really answered this.
I am going to buy a leveling kit in the near future for my '10 4x4 Scab, but there are quite a few brands out there and i would like to know some feedback from ppl who have a leveling kit installed on an '09 or '10. Its a pretty simple accessory but the prices vary depending on the brand, and i would like to know if there is really any difference between a metal one (like Pro Comp) or Polyurethane (such as Daystar). I was looking at getting the Daystar kit, its only $130, but i dont wanna buy cheap and regret it.
So please leave feed back on the kit you have, Thanks

You need a brand which has a slight offset like the autospring does. Quite a few people have used straight design spacers on the 09-10's and had problems with the strut spring being hit by the upper a-arm knuckle. The spacers with offset design actually mounts the top portion of the strut slightly out which keeps the strut at the angle you need for better clearance.
I would go with a 2" auto spring spacer. Also these are available powder coated for a few extra $. Mine has been on for 2-3 years. I think I paid 70.00 shipped or so but that was 3 years ago. They are a very good company to deal with and last I knew you can only by on ebay. I think their name was spring bender on there.. check it out.

Nor-cal will chime in soon I hope. He did a great 2" front lift I think. I forget the brand but he is very happy with it.

I went with the Tuff Country 2 inch leveling kit from suspensionconnection.com it was like $112.30 after shipping. No problems with the control arms or anything.

I went with the Tuff Country brand 2" leveling kit, as it was the one supplied by my tire and brake distributor in my region (Les Schwab Tire Co.)

It was all steel and it took them less then 2 hours to install, plus the required alignment. Mine was only $268 parts, labor, and alignment.

Most leveling kits for the new model F150's are of similar design.....two stacked steel (some aluminum and some poly) plates with studs on one end, some are painted and some powder coated. The kit for the '04 to '08 truck is not the same configuration or part number, as the newer design '09 and on vehicle.

I have only heard some negative reports about the poly composition version.

It just made more sense to me to go with a steel component given the location and the purpose of this device, as well as the loads they will encounter.

I have not viewed any recent problems with '09-'10 installations since I have been at this board. My installation was very straight forward, I watched the entire event, and the mechanic did not swear even once.

IMO this is the best mod for these trucks. I did not like the raked look and I just love the bold stance of my truck now. I get compliments and comments on a daily basis, and I have not yet put the larger diameter tires on it.

The ride is perfect and unchanged and it handles like it did before the installation. I have not noticed any change in MPG. I did notice that the view was slightly different out over the hood, the first day or so, until I go used to the change that the 2" rise in the hood line created for my eye. My guess is most will not even notice this aspect.

This is an installation that can easily be undone, should one choose to do so. There was not cutting of any stock component whatsoever.

My truck measured 37.5 ground level to mid point of lower fender line, both front and rear before install and then exactly 39.5" both front and rear, perfectly level, after the install.

I am sure most of the 2" leveling kits that are of HD steel construction will perform as mine has. There does seem to be a price spread between brands, but I am not sure why, as all it is is a simple spacer, a piece of metal....it is not a moving part. It just has to be strong and precise in fabrication.

Hope this helps. BTW, there have been two or three threads which touched on this topic in the past 60 or so days. I posted a photo in the most recent thread.

I have a 3" auto spring kit. I was running 34" wrangler MT tires and was gettting pretty terrible mileage. I'm now back on the stock tires. Mileage has improved a bit. I'll be taking out my lift shortly to see what effect that has on mileage.
