Leveling Kit
OK I am sure that this has been covered somewhere else in here but I cant seem to find it. I have a 2013 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew 4X4 and I tried to install a 2" leveling kit on it this past weekend. I removed the upper control arms and everything according to the directions I had. Now comes my issue...I removed the strut and installed the blocks torqued everything down. When i went to reinstall my strut I could not get it back in place, I tried prying it and even tapping with a hammer while prying but I could not get it to sit back in the lower strut location, it seemed like i was maxing out my CV axle knuckles and i didn't want to rip a boot or damage my axle. I see people are running 2.5 & 3 inch kits but how are you getting them installed? What am I missing or not doing right? I have ordered a set of 1.5 inch blocks but would prefer to run the 2 inch ones if I can.
Thank you for the video link. I am wondering about installing on a 4X4 though as the install having the 4X4 axles are a little different then on a 2W drive truck. Do you need to remove the axle to install the lift blocks?

Stage 3 has a decent one
If you haven't already, disconnect the sway bar end links and tie rod end. It's gonna be tight getting it in but it will go. I always put the top in first and get the nuts started, then put the lower in and use a crow bar to line the hole up on the lca. 4 of the 5 I've installed were 2.5" and 2.75". Also make sure you disconnect the steering rack before doing any front end work.
cmbowles, thank for that, and yes I have disconnected the sway bar link and the steering rack as well. I also disconnected the upper control arm. the only thing I didn't disconnect was the lower control arm and loosen the axle. I was trying to install a 2" Summit Performance kit, and I was prying but didn't want to pry to much and bend/break something. I guess that's where I need to go then is to pry on it a little more and get it to pop in or just wait and upgrade to Bilstin adjustable struts.
I have found the easiest way by far is to disconnect the sway bar and unbolt the lower control arms from the body. The struts can then just come out without fooling with anything else. I had my stock struts and spacers out and coilovers in in 2.5hrs including cleaning up my tools and working solo. I also have a 14 so it requires more clearance to get the stock struts in and out.
