Led tailgate bars
Just trying to figure out a solution to a problem that I'm having with my girlfriends step father about my tinted taillights ( if you are going to tell me to just remove the tinting that's not what I'm wanting to do). Right now my girlfriend is not allowed to ride in my truck until I fix my taillights when everyone else thinks they are perfectly fine. My question is what does everybody think about the tailgate light bars? This is the only way I can make him happy about it and still keep the look I'm going for. Here are some pictures of them off running lights and brake and reverse lights.
Well I've been dating her for a year and a almost 4 months and I tinted the tails over break and her step father never said anything until he was behind me one night and thinks they are to dark because they aren't as bright as his stock lights and he can be an a** but her actual father is cool with the lights and always wants her to bring me around. And my parents think the lights are perfectly fine and they are way stricter than my girlfriends step father. Right now the solution we have been doing is I just take my parents cars when they aren't busy and if they need to go some where they take my truck, but my mom is getting mad about it and my dad refuses to drive my truck because it is so big so I'm trying to find a new solution

It's not about her step dad or real dad being cool or not. I think her step dad is just being very cautious and caring parent and you can't blame him for wanting to protect her.
Our trucks are not very visible at night with stock tail lights so tinting them only makes the problem worse. I ride motorcycles and one of my concerns is getting rear ended, especially at night so I have extra brake lights that blink when initially engaged. I was driving behind my friend with a '11 F150 at night and noticed that the truck was barely visible on the highway at more than 50' behind him. I didn't want to be rear ended in my truck so I ordered a LED tailgate bar for more visibility. They work as running lights, turn signals, brake and reverse lights. Highly recommend it.

I have to say I agree with BobbyC. In North Carolina the tails you have would be so close to illegal you would probably be ask to change them. Looking good does not always equate to functional. If it were my daughter or step daughter in this case, she wouldn't ride in it either. Sorry.
I'm sure you will understand better if you have a daughter in the future.
