Default LED Puddle/Mirror lights

Hey everyone,

I just bought my 2011 FX4 EcoBoost last weekend and I already have a list of things that I am wanting to do.

One of the first things is to convert all the lights to LED. I am having a problem finding the lights that are under the mirrors though. I have looked everywhere and I cant find anything.

Has anyone replaced these?

Thanks for the help,

Joey D.

I am also interested on this, last week I pulled the puddle light housing out to see if it uses a wedge type bulb (194) and to my surprise, It was a sealed unit! Hopefully someone has done this and made a good write up.

Everything I have read on here talks about cutting the housing apart and replacing the festoon bulb within the housing. This is the only bulb I have not replaced with hi powered led's thus far due to the cutting. Would love someone to provide a plug and play unit for purchasing.

There are a couple of postings on here that go over the cutting.

Regards,
Jeff

That really sucks because Chevy has them that are replaced just like any other bulb. I don't have them on my truck but wouldn't be wanting to have to cut anything just to change them.

Instead of using the stock puddle lamps, use the black plastic plug that comes in the non-lamp mirrors and mount a LED lamp on or in the plug, then snap the plug back in the bottom of the mirror.

I replaced them in my '08 with a LED cluster. I cut up the back of the original light and mounted the cluster to shine through the stock lense. It looked great and worked really well.

I plan on doing the same to my '11, hopefully this week. I'll post some pics when I'm done with it along with a quick write up of what to do.

I think they said, If you don't have a plug and have puddle lights, get a plug and install the lights into it.
