Default LED bars on during the day?

It seems that almost daily I see a couple of truck with their lightbar on during the day. Would these be wired to come on as daytime running lights instead of regular headlamps for some reason or is this some new trend that I'm too old(36) to get?--- Only reason I'm thinking that is pretty much every one I see is driven by a student from the university.

When I was in high school (I'm your same age) we used to drive around with our parking lights on during the day. We called them our "coolies" some people called them "high schools".

Ahh, I remember them days..always had to have them on..and when the first auto bright/dim came out we would try to stop just right under the blinking light to annoy the oncomers

You're too old. lol.

To each his own. If they think it looks cool, more power to them. The only thing that sucks is they risk blinding other drivers or getting a ticket.

As a student with a light bar on the front of my truck. No idea why people are doing this i only run with mine on at Sardis or some back county road that I am lost on. but another possibility is the drivers don't know that they're on?

Could possibly be lazy wiring tapping the headlight circuit.

Didn't even occur to me, I spent a good hour and a half just doing/double checking my wiring. Luckily for me my bar came with a great wiring kit that made it easy.

I drive around with my fog lights during the day. I think people that drive with their light bars on during the day on the road are douchebags; it's annoying and it blinds people.

There are people here that do it day and night, pisses me the F off! I only use my rigid when its needed, not for driving around blinding people. Sometimes they follow me like that and I flip on my work lights back because I can't see with my mirrors blinding me and my cab lit up. Some figure it out and some don't. The ones that do it usually have 3 or 4 light bars. People around here are starting to run them off the road in larger trucks. I think they are getting what they deserve. I watched it happen the other day. There is no way that's cool. In hs my 250 had a bunch of kc day lighters and I didn't drive around with them on
