Default Leather problems on 2011?

Anyone having leather problems in their f150?s my back seat leather is really really loose and when someone sits in the back it bubbles up and won't smooth back out. Think the dealer will replace it under warranty? How about excessive cracking in the front seats? The leather isn't ripped, but the cracks are pretty bad. Truck has 20k miles on it. Any chance of getting the leather replaced?

Have you conditioned your leather at all since you've had your truck? Keeping leather conditioned should prevent most cracking.

+1 conditioning is key, I do it every time I clean the inside.

I don't believe conditioning is recommended with the F-150 leather as it is covered in a clear film designed to both preserve and protect. Some conditioners will not eact well with this clear covering and it is only recommended to wipe with a damp cloth.

I don't believe your rear seat cover should be as you describe, I had a problem with my 2010 drivers seat bottom and the dealer replaced it, no issues with my 2011. Hope your dealer will take care of you !

My 2005 truck most definitely had the protective or plastic coating on the leather, but my 2011 most definitely does not have the plastic film or lining on the outside. I have had my truck about 3 months and conditioned it about 3 times now and each time it has gotten softer and even better than before.

If it is really loose and bubbles up though, you might want to have the dealer look at that.

Thanks everyone, I have conditioned the leather, but it's still cracking. Maybe I need to step it up. I'll take it to the dealer on Monday and see what they tell me.

Saddle soap acts as a good conditioner for leather been around alongtime, hence the name saddle soap....

I'll go pick some up tomorrow. I don't suppose it will smooth out the current cracking and repair it some?

I was a bootmaker for 10 years. If you want leather to shrink you wet it and apply heat, so during the summer months to shrink boots we would wet them and put them in a car to "bake" all day. Leather seats these days are synthetic mostly and I have not experimented with leather seats. Saddle soap is a good cleaner/conditioner.

Smile Leather problems

When shopping this June in Texas(105 degrees) several of the 2011 F-150
Lariats I got into had the leather dash above the instrument cluster coming loose and bubbling. Seeing that I decided not to get the leather interior on my 2011 XLT 4X4 Texas Edition, went with cloth seats and standard trim. Thought with the Texas heat the leather interior would not hold up. Happy with my choice.
