Laptop Mount! anybody using one
#3
Checkout the RAM Mounting system, they are quite good. I prefer a RAM Mount over a Jotto. I don't have one in my new Screw 150 yet, as I haven't had a chance to purchase one yet, but I did have them in my other Dodges and they worked very well, for what I was using them for.

I have a 10.1 Acer netbook that I take along with Garmin PC and all my music in it. I fits almost perfect in the tray on the dash and use a wireless mouse on the armrest. I can't have it all the way open but I'm not usually looking at it when I'm driving anyways.

Further information to my above post. The RAM mount that goes into the Ford does fit some 17 laptops. I have a 17" ASUS laptop, as well as a Dell 16" XPS that I used on my Dodge mount and they both fit well. I also have a printer attachment for a bluetooth Canon printer, as well as a GPS mount. It makes things crowed, but they all fit. I can't comment on the 17" HP as I only have used a 15.4 inch one.The only difference between a Dodge mount and a Ford mount is where the bottom plates attach to the passenger seat bolts. The console mount is on a different system and I'm not sure if a 17" will fit that. I can find out in the couple of weeks, if you like? The Jotto systems are a little different, regarding how laptops are attached on the mounting plate.

I have a RAM-VB-109-SW1 (Ram Mount) with a 17" toshiba mounted in my truck. It does take up some space when the laptop is there but so what. Basically you remove the front passenger seat bolts and loosen the rear one and slip the bottom bracket in. Mount the rest of the unit and adjust it to where you want it, there are several members on the team who run Ram Mounts and they are solid. I will grab some pics tomorrow and post them.
