Default keyless entry refused to work?

Went to lunch today, locked the truck with the factory keyfob hit the button twice until it honked. Came out about an hour later and hit the unlock button and...nothing.. no light flash, no doors unlocked, nothing. so i used the key in the door and once i got in the truck was making a different dinging and the dash was lit up with something along the lines of "use key to shut off alarm" so i put the key in the ignition and started the truck and all was fine the message stopped and i unlocked the rest of the doors from the inside.

now tonight i've tired it multiple times and the keyless entry is working perfectly without issue. just a glitch/fluke??

Mine does something like this every once in a while as well. It happens infrequently enough that I have never looked into it. It won't unlock from the key fob after several presses, most of the time I hit lock again and then unlock and it will unlock. Other times it won't lock when I press the button but if I lock it from the key pad then it unlock on the fob followed by lock it works. Sometimes when I try to use the remote start doing the lock 2x on the start button routine the truck will lock like it does when double tapping the lock button. If I try it again it does the same thing. Ive tried unlocking and re locking it and starting the combo over but I've never been able to get it to remote start after it decides to honk rather than start unless I actually go start the truck with the key then shut it off lock it and remote start it

I had the same problem recently, the cause was a cheap USB charger I had plugged into the 12V outlet in my truck, it put out enough interference to mess with the remote entry to the point where it sometimes wouldn't function at all. When I unplugged it my remote entry worked perfectly again.

This sounds like my problem. My old cell phone charger died and I got a new one and I have the same symptoms.

Sounds like a weak battery or a bad connection on the battery in the fob. There is a TSB to replace the gasket in it that helps create a better connection. This may be what's going on in your case.

I had the same problem but a new battery fixed the issue.

I'll give the battery a shot, i'm using the same key that has been used every day since new. the second key was in a safe until about a month ago.

I have the same issue off and on and I have a dual USB charger plugged in all of the time. Maybe I'll unplug the charger and see if that helps.
