Default Issues with Sync Services

I have a 2010 Screw with the standard radio that allows me to utilize sync services for directions, business search, & turn by turn directions. In the past I have used the system with no problem. If I needed directions somewhere I would download them from google maps and have them sent to the truck. However lately when I have tried this sync says that they could not find my location. Has anyone else had this issue and what have you done to fix it.

It uses the GPS on your phone, make sure that is enabled.

It does NOT use the GPS on your phone. The truck has GPS built into the ACM. When you dial sync services it sends the coordinates acquired by the ACM through your phone via audio. You can hear the request by dialing Sync Services manually on your phone and ask for directions. When you hear the prompt 'wait while we get your location', you'll start to hear some tones.

These tones tell the ACM to grab your location through the built in GPS and send it to Sync over the phone.

This issue came up on syncmyride.com. One of the resolutions was to turn the volume up on your phone while it's connected via bluetooth to the truck. Sounds goofy, but it's worked for me --- since I've increased the volume, I have not had this issue.

Thanks, I will try it and see what happens. Today it said something about the GPS unit in the truck so if this doesn't work I will have dealer take a look at it when I go to get my next oil change.

So I tried to turn up the phone volume but this did not work either. The Sync voice told me that there was a problem with my GPS sensor and that I should have the ford take a look at it. When I took it into the shop this morning of course they wanted to self diagnose the problem after I left. However without my phone they could not find the problem so I had to come back up to the shop and show the mechanic. The mechanic told me that he had not had this issue before and he would have to get on the internet to look it up. Needless to say I have not heard anything back so I guess they will get back with me tomorrow.
