Default iPod

I saw a post on this a while ago and wanted to show what I got done. Mounted the iPod behind the dash, hardwired in to the USB2 connection that I ran to the glove box. This gives me the ability to sync the iPod with my computer.

Used a piece of 2x4 behind the iPod to hold it in place. Put some double sided tape around the front to keep it close to the trim. Used Cydia to jailbreak the phone and make the menu go landscape.

That's cool. You have sync? I don't. So I'm not sure I could do this. I don't think I have any usb's. I've had my dash apart a few times, and I looked. Also, does it get cold where you are? Does that affect it?

I do have SYNC. It doesn't get too cold here (Memphis).... at least it didn't this year. I'm more worried about the summer heat. Guess I will see how it works out.

Now that, my friends, is pretty cool! Is that where the factory brake controller is?

Yes, if you don't have the controller, there s just a storage pocket. I'm just curious if I have a usb, without having sync. I leave my ipod in my truck all the time any way, this is prefect for my situation.

You would not have USB without SYNC. SYNC is what controls the USB. I can't find a USB interface that will work with your stereo. You might be able to talk to a local car audio shop to see what kind of solution they could come up with. Just make sure it is something with switched power.
