None of those are good enough reasons for you to do your level best to kill the rest of us while texting and driving.

Well, when you are driving and a text comes in or you need to send one, something has to give, so the driving will have to take a backseat fro a few seconds. Everything will be alright.

Your texting isn't worth your potential to kill somebody because you didn't have your eyes on the road.

My phone sits on the driver's seat between the legs. Always has, always will.

I can answer my texts more quickly this way. There is nothing more important than answering a text, including driving safely. Hell, I wish there was a way for other people around me to know that I am responding to my buddy's request to go to lunch so that they can switch lanes and give me more room. It's hard to stay between the lines sometimes. I haven't gotten used to the whole driving with the knees yet. Sometimes, I spend about 4 seconds texting, then I have to grab the wheel to get back in my lane. I think it's about a 4:1 second ratio of texting:driving.

If you have your iphone hooked up to sync and double tap the home button there is an icon on your top right of the screen that looks like a box with a upside down triangle. Press that and select the iphone tab on the bottom of the screen. That way you can still hear texts/e-mail come in but sync will still work when the phone rings. That may help.
