The problem is there would have to be a hardware device that plugs into the I pad and then into the heating controls so that the siginals could be sent to the trucks wires. This would require a crap load of development and electrical work

But if it could be done that would be AWESOME!!!!

You're sort of right.. we can take advantage of Bluetooth 4.0 and build a control circuit board that interfaces with the existing harness somehow. Nothing would need to be plugged into the iPad.

Now that's something that would be sweet!! Another idea would be a controller to control all of the factory radio buttons since they have to be removed would be nice to be able to control them from the iPad itself.

Heck, I would be happy if I could learn how to charge an iPad mini while attached to sync... Baby steps!

No you do not have SYNC in your F150. Yes you can still put an iPad in your dash as long as you have the aux input jack but you would have to re-locate your radio controls somewhere that where accessible to use them on a daily basis

It will trickle charge the iPad mini as long as you have the screen locked. Trust me I've had mine in my truck for almost a month now and it started out around 75% and is just now at 65% and I don't always lock the screen so that it will charge.
