he also sells most all the parts required for the install on his website. This single handedly makes all other stereo installs obsolete. Its a "removable faceplate" and with:
1. IHeartRadio - you have FM radio
2. Pandora
3. "Ipod integration"
4. Navigation
5. Satellite Radio at 2.99 a month....if you already have a primary account, it will be the online account

Pretty cool looking for sure, but the iPad is overpriced as it is - would be hard to pay that much more to have that done. I think I'd rather just have it with me, and then when I am not driving, I could use it.

I know.. thats not the point.

Now if they could figure a way to put it in front of the stock cd player and controls, and be able to control the radio and all that VIA the ipad, that would be cool

well, purely on crunching the numbers on Crutchfield and claiming that the ipad is overpriced, which it isnt....

I optioned Kenwoods new top of the line GPS receiver with "stuff":
Kenwood DNX-5180 - $950.
Kenwood HD Radio processor - $130.
Kenwood Sirius processor - $80.
Kenwood ipod cable - $30.

Grand total is $1,190.

Given that a 16gb Ipad2 with Wifi and 3G will give me streaming access to my itunes library at home and give me access to every audio and video based application, the grand total for its install is $1,529. Whats another $400?

I'd be content with a generic dock that both supported the iPhone or an Android phone with a microUSB plug.

With the apps available for the iPhone and Android:

Clearchannel's app for most FM radio streaming.
Pandora.
Last.fm
Rdio (pretty much everything Spotify is, but available in the US)
Amazon's Cloud app

Why bother with anything else (such as satellite radio subscriptions) when one's Android phone or iPhone can do all this?
