Default Interior led lighting

Hey just had a quick question about LEDs for my 2010 FX4 Crewcab. First off is it better to buy the bulbs individually or buy a kit? Second which brand is better to go with. I'm looking at starting with the interior first and then work my way outside the truck. I am new to this so I don't know which company to go with or stay away from. I seen recon has a lot for our trucks but heard they are not so good, was also told to stay away from spyder head and tail light because the are cheap. To just mod my own but I don't know how to do all that. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome, I'm glad you tried a little research first. You can chat with Nick on the forum about LED's for the interior and exterior of your truck, here https://www.f150forum.com/f59/hid-led-200648/ He offered me a whole package including the flashers, puddle lamps, and cargo, license, reverse, etc. That was a bit too much for me and with the flashers/tail lights and such you will need to install resistors along with them. What I did was he recently had a group buy and picked up all the interior plus the non-resistor exterior LEDs. This way it was 1/3 of the price. Aftermarket headlights and tail lights I have no experience with and will let other members who actually own them to comment on their reliability. I went with the "mod my own" approach which is known as a retrofit and had bilinvic do it for me. That's the best way to go but also expensive.

Ok thanks a lot I will look up both and see what's up. Yeah I try to research as much as I can but sometimes I get a little overwhelmed with all this stuff. I don't want to waste money or damage equipment if I can help it so that's why I ask.

I bought my interior LED lights from drivebright.com they sell a kit that comes with the map lights, dome lights, and a cargo light. It was fairly inexpensive too. Here is a link http://drivebright.com/home/shop/f-1...ent-bulb-pack/

+1 for Nick. I got in on the group buy recently too. I did the interior, cargo lamp, plate lamps, and reverse lights. Looks great.

The only downside was that after doing all of these my puddles looked bad because they weren't LEDs.

So I got these: http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...d-festoon/238/

Then I did this: https://www.f150forum.com/f71/puddle...09/?styleid=14

It didn't turn out as great as I would have liked as I broke one of the tabs on the puddle lights as I was removing it. I haven't been in the dark too much lately either (love the PNW summer!), so I haven't had a chance to critique the brightness or aim too much. I'll probably try to find some cheap puddles and do it again, just because the broken tab pi**es me off every time I think if it.

I also got LED fogs from Nick. Sooner or later I'm going HID retrofits so I want the fogs to not look out of place.
