It's been quite cold here, with temeratures around -20C to -25C . Normally the radio or sat music continues to play after shutting off the engine until a door is opened. With the cold temperature , the radio shuts off when the engine is turned off, and the display states "turning off system to protect batt".
Temperature is back up to -5C to -10C range now , and the radio again stays on until a door is opened.

Your battery is weak, on an older less smart vehicle you could go years like that without knowing. If you are still on basic warranty then take it in and they will test and replace your battery. Both my old truck and my new one I had the battery replaced on warranty at 40,000. Could've gone earlier, might go for one right before extended warranty is up too. Batteries don't last as long as they used to when you're putting so much juice in and sucking so much out.

That's not normal I have those same temperatures all the time and that never happens in the truck. Radio only shuts off if a front door is opened. Mine stays on for like 15-30 mins before showing that display and if I quickly cycle the key to accessory it tells me I must start truck.

Do you have the navigation system? It may be different.

Thanks for the heads up! I did not drive the truck much during the cold spell, and they were only short trips . I've never had an issue with the truck not starting, but I will get the battery checked.

X2. Take it in, they'll give you a new battery and you'll be fine.

In edmonton, that isn't even that cold. Drop another 10 degrees and people will start to think about bundling up.
