Alright you have the drivetrain in your Expedition that the 2009 and 2010s have. The only difference is that you have the 6R75 transmission while the 2009/2010 F150 and 2009 Expedition and 2009 Explorer/Sport Trac all went to the 6R80 transmission. The 75 or 80 is the torque converter. The higher the number, the more torque it can handle. Everything went to 80 in 2009 most likely to keep things simple.

So you have already felt the difference. The F150 w/5.4L will be a bit quicker as your Expedition weighs more. My 2010 Screw 4WD XLT 5.5' bed w/5.4L V8 weighed 5770 lbs from the factory. My 2012 F150 which is the same configuration but with more options and the 5.0L weighs 5768 lbs.

Take your tire loading sticker (yellow sticker) payload weight near the top and subtract it from your GVWR (on white sticker) and that's what your Expedition weighs. See what the difference is between that and the F150 and add people to the F150 to make up for the weight difference, then compare. That's your difference.

The 2011 5.0 XLT I drove shared the same shift strategy as the Ecoboost and the 5.4L meaning not so great for it's higher rpm torque and horsepower peaks. Updates to the trans program may have been done. The 2012 shift strategy was different with the 5.0L as it downshifts sooner and holds gears longer to keep the rpms up in the sweet spot. Also make sure your 5.0L has the 3.73 gears in the differentials as this makes a huge difference with the tow rating and getting this engine into the upper rpms where it needs to be to make it's most power.

I love mine new F150, picked it up last Tuesday and it with it's 3.73 rear end and it's better shifting strategy, lacks in no way to the 5.4L. When I test drove a 2011 (I bought a 2010 left over as I did the 2012) compared to the 2010, it was lacking. First it had the 3.55 geared differential and it didn't want to downshift sooner, which made it accelerate slowly when passing. the 5.4L doesn't need to downshift as it's torque is made in the lower rpms. The 2012's gearing and shifting actually made the 2012 5.0L quite a bit more powerful than the 5.4L in every way.

From your description, you already know how they compare. Good luck.
