Integrated Brake Controller
Has anyone installed the OEM brake controller? If so, what did you do and what was the cost. My truck came with the entire tow package but did not come with the brake controller. I dont want to install an aftermarket one.

That's your trailer brake controller. It's $243 from the website.
From another post, show the dealer this.
Programmable Parameters
The message center will display TBC FAULT if it is receiving communications from the Trailer Brake Control (TBC) module, but has not been configured for a trailer brake system. If the message center displays TBC FAULT and there are no DTCs stored in the TBC module, follow these steps to verify and/or modify the TBC module programmable parameter in the Instrument Cluster (IC).
1. Identify the vehicle using the normal Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) process.
1. Select Programming and press the check box.
1. Select Module Programming and press the check box.
1. Select Programmable Parameters and press the check box.
1. Select Personality and press the check box.
1. Follow the on-screen directions.
1. NOTE: The scan tool will display either EQUIPPED or NOT EQUIPPED to the left of TBC-IC.
Highlight TBC-IC.
1. If the IC needs to be configured for a trailer brake system, choose EQUIPPED and press the check box.
1. Carry out a self-test of the TBC module. Refer to the Trailer Brake Control (TBC) Module DTC Chart for any DTCs retrieved.

That's the part number for the 2009 model. The part # for the 2010 is AL3Z-19H332-AA. Thanks to kmac1036 in this thread:
https://www.f150forum.com/f38/traile...-models-45070/
There is a significant difference in the two parts - the 2009 has the readout display (gain, etc) built into the controller module itself. The 2010 has only the brake controls and gain adjust buttons, the readouts are in the info center in the center dash console between the speedo and tach. The 2010 part is also significantly cheaper because of this, should be less than $50.
**Sorry Speedster, just checked your profile, you have a 2009 truck, so myowneq's info above is 100% correct.

Actually, I could just let it ride and act like I knew that, but I actually didn't. Since I have a 2010, that's VERY useful information to have.
