I have bought higher mileage 3-5 year old vehicles like this (mostly convertibles), and it has worked out for me. Given the maintenance history and your description, it looks like it has been well taken care of. If you are concerned with future maintenance, I would opt for the extended warranty. Trade in seems to be ~$25K. I would try to get it for $27K including the warranty, but that is just me.

If you are planning to keep it a few years, and put about 8,000 miles a year on it the mileage will level out to something more normal by the time you want to trade it in. However with as nice as these things drive, you may find yourself driving it more than you thought! I have 56K on my 2010 after 3.5 years of ownership, and these things are awesome on long trips.

I bought it! Best I could haggle was a 3 month 3k mile power train warranty. Got it for 24,940 out the door including tax and doc fee (this includes my down-payment.). I drove it for 2 hours today before buying and it's wonderful. Only problem is that the drivers it side heated/cooled seat only works for a minute or two then clicks off (lights stay on). I'll be starting a separate thread for that though.

Lifted the bed liner and it's like new under there. Salesman that took it in in trade said the guy moved from Montana to Idaho and made that trip 7 or 8 times in addition to all the trips to California, and that the guy was **** retentive about maintenence. It shifts buttery smooth and has nice firm quick downshifts, drives better than the two new ones I testddrove. Overall, love it! Now let the accessorizing begin.... Thanks for all the feedback!

Nice! Sounds like you got it for a good price and are happy with it! I will tell you one of the things that I did not like about my truck was the transmission and how it shifted (programmer fixed that ) glad you are happy with yours.

As far as accessorizing let me help you with some ideas:
Weathertech or some other nice quality floorliner
BakFlip
LED bedlights
mud flaps
AMP research powersteps
2013 HID Headlights or HID retrofit
Bed steps - if you think they would be helpful

Congrat's!!! and Enjoy!!

If it makes you happy that's all that matters!! It sounds Like a great Price and Great Reports!

I have bought some higher end trucks in my past for the most part were not bad, but have used the Warranty I bought, anything can happen no matter how good you baby it.

I was just trying to show you that the XLT can be a nice truck for low end price!....lol

Far as aftermarket Comment that was mentioned, everyone loves my Katzkin seats w/heat, and my seats are nicer softer then my buddies New 2013 FX4 luxury, just saying. But he has me on the cold part,
