Default Important Tire Question

I'm looking at upgrading my tires from stock 275/55R20 Bridgestone Dueler. Looking at getting the new BFG KO2. If I get the 275/65R20 I'll pay 1,380. But if I get 285/65R20 I'm paying 1,640. Please, can someone help me with the decision. Pictures would help too, thank you all in advance.

hmm, big diff in price for .4" of width and .5" in height. Doubt you would even tell much diff using the eye test.

I'm kind of having the same debate with myself. I don't think it's worth paying so much more for the small amount of difference. But then again, I'd like to see them side by side on a truck, in person. That's not gonna happen so I'll probably just go for the 275 65 20.

Here are the sizes converted so there more easy to understand.

275/55R20 = 31.91X10.83
275/65R20 = 34.07X10.83
285/65R20 = 34.59X11.22

So with that being said I'm guessing your wanting something around the 34-35". Personally I think the 2" taller than stock 275/65R20 look to narrow being as your increasing the height by 2" but the width is staying the same as stock.

There are other sizes out there too.

Lol, lighten up old timer!
The wink I left in my last post implied sarcasm to my statement. I could state that wider generally looks 'cooler', but is more prone to hydroplaning. But over 10mm difference in width and a little bit of height, that's hardly an issue.... it's all for looks when comparing those two sizes!!
In which I rest my case.....wider is better!

I can give you some first hand knowledge I had these tires on my truck and my gas millage dropped 5 mpg and the ride was horrible.
I went back to the Michelin M/S E load or 114 10 ply and the truck rides like new again, The mpg is back up and they last longer
Good Luck

I have 285/65/20 in the KO2's. I love them. Once again I agree with Wayne. Going a couple inches taller made the 275's too skinny to me. The 285's were perfect. JMO And by the way, the ride is great, they are dead quiet and I only lost at most 1 mpg. I was right about 15mpg with stock and I am right at 14.1 mpg with 800 miles on them and that is resetting my gauge. Almost all my driving is in town.

Also I got my tires for $1500 out the door. Showed Discount Tire what I could get them off EBay for and they matched that even after tax. I think I found them for $346 shipped to me. So that was $1384 plus then $116 for dismounting, mounting and balancing. I thought that was pretty good.

You do know the KO2 that he is talking about have only been out since November? I am guessing you must have had the older KO's?
