I waited two additional weeks for my dealer to locate a FX4 lux package without NAV back in 2011. I'm getting ready to trade and I would do the same thing. I find my little Garmin is fine and so easy to use. It has been in 3 trucks so far so that is real value. $120 for the Garmin and if I had NAV in all 3 trucks I would have spent over $3000.

That said, a friend just bought a '13 Lariat all decked out with NAV. He loves it! He is not a tech guy at all but there are features that he says are really neat. My wife just got a Titanium Escape and her NAV is kinda neat with the voice feature and all. I'm sure if I had the new Ford NAV in my next truck I would learn to like it...probably alot. The fact is that the option cost is simply not worth it.

It depends on if you use your nav often. I don't have it but my girlfriend does in her escape. Its cool for the first couple months but I don't think either of us have touched it in over a year. I've used my tomtom maybe 4 times since I bought my truck almost 2 years ago. Me personally, I wouldn't get nav in my truck

I purchased my 13 Lariat w/MFT a couple weeks ago and I am very pleased with the Nav. I find it much easier to used and much quicker to reroute than the Nav in my wife 12 Mercedes GL550. I would not hesitate in spending the extra money for the option.

Maybe this is my problem. I'll take your advise. but right now it horrible. I still carry my Garmin since I travel 5 States and hundreds of favorites, most of which are just GPS Tags, no address.

I only have 3000 miles since my purchase 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I thought I'd plug in my home from 400 miles out and save it. First it didn't recognize the address. Then 2 miles from home it told me I had .8 miles to go for the left turn. I was at the stop light where I need to turn. Last week I'm in KCMO to pick up somebody and it gives me the exit command, only problem is I'm doing 70 and the off ramp is half gone. Had to go to the next and turn around.

Today I went to Dest then Home and it wouldn't calculate. So I went to Menu - Previous and after about 3 minutes it found the route. I was 5 miles away.

My last comment but not my last beef is there's no way to reload Favorites after a reboot or software upgrade. They're just gone, so this is essentially worthless. Can't spend time punching addresses it doesn't recognize or GPS locations which isn't an option anyway.

So far IMO its not worth a wooden nickel.

It gets easier every time I use it, but I don't think it's worth the $795.00.

I bought the navigation in our Ford edge, and it broke shortly after the warranty expired. And even before it broke they wanted a kings ransom to update the maps in it. My opinion is that a built-in GPS is a waste of money. I skipped on that with my F150 and just use a garmin. But if you're are willing the pay the big bucks then get the Ford navigation and enjoy it. I'm sure its cool, but if you plan on keeping your truck for a long time, remember that it will get outdated and may even break.

Why would anyone pay for NAV when your smartphone does everything you need for NOTHING?

Because often times when I need the nav the most my smartphone isn't getting a signal and therefore is useless.

I first encountered the MFT system in my mom's Explorer. When I found out that Ford was integrating MFT into the F150's, I had to get it. My parents have used the navigation function several times when going on vacation, and I've done the same in my truck. It has always worked perfectly for me, and for my parents as well.

I sometimes use it when I am driving to a familiar place just to see if I will encounter some of the problems that I have read about on here such as: the arrow being off the path and in someone's yard or like an above poster said, "the distance to the turn was off by x amount."

I personally like the navigation feature and it has always worked well for me. Lastly, I don't really like the look of the sync screen in the 2013's.

I will definitely upgrade to navigation in my next truck.
