Hub centric ring
Yes, in fact most aftermarket wheels are built with a larger center hole to accommodate a large range of different vehicle applications that have the same bolt pattern. The hub centric rings function is to assist with installation to ensure the wheel gets centered on the studs, this can help eliminate high speed vibrations, and it is completely safe to tow with them. Once the lug nuts get torqued down to the proper torque, the hub ring serves no purpose as the lugnuts are what hold the weight of the vehicle.

I'd look for a wheel that is specifically designed for the ford platform, not a multi platform wheel. Black Rhino wheels do this across all of their products, as well as some other certain wheels from other brands.

i highly doubt that, hub centric rings are not something you can even see without removing the wheel. Do you speed up or slow down with every truck running aftermarket wheels then?
I stay out of their way. Call it profiling, I don't care. Also stay away from Priuses and semis. I stay farther than 6' away from people, too. (preferably 100s of feet) Kinda funny this year watching them try to do the same.
And yes, you can see crappy 12-hole wheels pretty easy.
