If you're old bezel worked before and doesn't now, then it might not be a hardware problem with your 8" bezel... You said you did some Forscan reprogramming as part of the upgrade - I would retrace your steps and see if you accidentally changed something you shouldn't have. I'd also suggest asking the experts on the Forscan thread as someone might have an immediate answer...

The bezels didn't work even before I did the programming. That is why I am leaning toward the fact that it might be a harness issue. Thank you for your input. I know it will be something simple, it will just be isolating the issue. I have also reached out to the forscan thread.

Is it possible you mixed up the CAN bus wires in your harness, or have pins/wires touching? The bezel controls work over the CAN network.

When I was in the discovery phase of this mod I had tapped the CAN wires from the harness into the bezel connector harness and it would pretty much disable the bezel controls when the CAN network tried to send communication out, since it was basically sending malformed data and the bezel couldn't interpret it.

I am not sure. I purchased the harness from another source. Thanks for the information, I will check that today and report back. How did you resolve that issue?

Do a continuity test using a voltmeter to see if the harness is pinned correctly by checking each pin location. Use post #35 in this thread as the "map"... https://www.f150forum.com/f38/how-up...360583/index4/

If you find an incorrectly located pin, you'll need to move it to the correct location.

Before doing all this, have you tried going back to your 4" setup to see if the 4" bezel works? This will help confirm whether it's your harness or not...

Anyone else than Anotherfordguy have cut their 4.2" PCB, if so did you remove the two ribbons on each side of the PCB and are you satisfied with the modified PCB.
Thank you

Ok, so I experienced a weird one today. Everything works on my Sync3 non nav upgrade... except - it wont read my texts out loud.

The music volume will dip like its going to read it and then nothing happens before the music comes back up.

Any thoughts?

didn't realize there were different gens. Are the values for gen1 and 2 on the forscan spreadsheet?

Try turning the volume up while the the message is being read. It is a different volume setting than the radio.
