Trying to download the latest update through Ford's website but it just freezes. Any other way to download and does anyone know what the latest update is?
i could be wrong but i would think the original sync would no longer be receiving any updates. remember that the original sync was released 12 years ago and has been replaced, twice. since then.
I would still like to update it to the latest firmware so I can see what song is playing via Bluetooth. One of my 2012s does it and the one I’m driving now doesn’t show it.
I've recently noticed that my 2016 Sync keeps disconnecting with my iPhone XR bluetooth. Not sure if I am having a similar problem with the updates for Sync or that my phone software has some bugs when it comes to bluetooth connection.

So, the latest is 4.4 or 4.6. There are some differences and difficulties people have had doing upgrades. Some will recommend 4.4, some 4.6, I believe. I'm afraid I haven't paid close attention because I don't have Sync1. And now the search function won't return anything but 2019 posts. Try a Google search on those versions, perhaps.

what year is your truck? Mine disconnects momentarily at start up, but then connects right back again.

Had same issue.
Temporarily disabling my browser's AdBlock corrected this and allowed download. .
Latest update is 4.6, I downloaded it in Sept of 2017. Oddly i just went on Sync my ride and it doesn't show up, I took a screenshot of it back in 2017, now its gone. Maybe Ford has stopped support of Sync 1.
I have the Sony system with nav, I don't use voice activation much but I haven't had any issues with the system other than having to remove the USB drive occasionally because it stopped recognizing it. I have considered updating the maps but it seems a little pricey at around $140. I could send you the files if you PM me.
