Well so far i have been waiting since 6-7-11 and I have no VIN number assigned yet. I have tried calling my dealer and all they say is that lets wait till next week friday to see if you get one. I am to the point that I am now going to cancell my order and go to another dealer. I have a 2011 eco fx4 with lux package and running boards and sony upgrade radio package. So pretty standard order and the ford hotline says they don't know why its still in order status and that it is strange that it still hasn't been assigned yet. I am so frustrated I just don't know what to do anymore. Any help, suggestions, comments. This is the first time I am having a truck built and so far I am not pleased at all. I am in the Chicagoland area if it matters

I placed my order June 30 and my truck is similar to yours. I got the VIN two weeks ago. I wonder if your dealer sold you a truck without an allocation?

Jaws what do you mean that she may have sold me a truck without a allocation. Would the 1800 number from ford know about it or would I have to talk directly to my dealer. Are you saying that it is possible that it could be being built and that the VIN number is not in the system

Specific dealers, depending on how many trucks they sell, have an allocation for a specific # of vehicles they can order and what the lead times are. Some dealers won't tell you this as it would ruin the sales opportunity. I hope Ford direct will give you more information. I looked for a high output dealer in my area and the first thing I asked, of course while agreeing on a deal, was that how was their pipeline into the factory and could they change an allocation of a work order to get my truck made quicker than the standard lead time- my truck arrived 4 week later.

Thanks NorCal I am assuming that since it has been about 7 weeks that the pipeline into the Ford factory is very small or nonexistent. I couldn't beat the offer that they were giving me but now I believe on Monday I'm cancelling my order. The dealer doesn't seem to be phased because they have not once called me to update me. I am the one always calling to see what is happening with the order. Now the only thing that may screw me is that I have waited so long who knows if they are still taking orders for the 11

They are still taking orders on the 11s. Placed my order today for an Ecoboost XLT screw and I haven't been told that the order was rejected.

You can still place orders for the 11 but there will be thing like nav, black n red exterior, spray in bed liner, that won't be available to order since the factory stopped taking these orders on the 11's-several different reasons why.

Thanks guys. You have helped me alot. Its just so frustrating waiting and waiting and not hearing anything. I know that there was a disaster in Japan that the Nav and the Colors are not being processed until next year. But just almost a basic truck is what I ordered and nothing. Now I have to think order a 11 or wait a few for the 12 I know that the incentives will be nothing on the 12 but I have till Monday to decide. I know this isn't the topic thread but does anyone know the new features in the 12

Dealer sent in order on July 5 and truck is built and in transit to Toronto as of Monday July 25 should get it around 10 of Aug. So about a Month turn time. Ordered a screw 4x4 with EB XLT with XTR pack or the US chrome pack same thing.
I would say if your dealer will not talk with you he maybe sold the truck too cheap and wants you to cancel.
