I change out batteries at 4 years. I do not wait for one to fail and strand me. I use the concept of a service life. I change out other stuff like alternators, belts, hoses, and water pumps before they fail..It is something my dad taught me and has served me well.

When I bought my 2013 in 2016 it had a brand new motorcraft battery I had the paperwork to prove it. The battery lasted a year and a half. Ford wouldn't warranty it even though I had paperwork to prove it, because I didn't purchase it and the dealer did when I bought it originally. I also had a brand new battery put in my 2015 when I bought it in September we'll see how long it lasts.

Got my truck new in July 2011 and OEM battery is still going strong, even this morning in -21C weather. I did put it on a desulfication charger a few years ago, may start doing it a little more often, maybe 6 month intervals. My wife's Acura's OEM battery (also new in 2011) struggled a little earlier this winter so it went on the desulfication charger for a few rounds and it seems to be good and reliable again. Not sure if these chargers are snake oil or not but seems to be good for my batteries.

Just had the one in my 2013 5.0L with 117,000 miles on it replaced. Dealer said it was down to 525 CCA. If it were summer it would have let it go a little longer.

92,000 on my 2013 and the battery is still the original and I replaced the factory battery in my 2013 Mustang after 4 years when my battery tender screwed up and overcharged it and kind of dried it out in 3 months.
