How do you remove Overhead Console?
I want to remove the overhead console to wire some power into one of the sunglass holders for mounting a GPS, I dont see any screws or anything in there so I am assuming it is probably spring clips of some sort but dont want to pull it off and break it......anyone have a clue?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I have a 2006 F-150. I put in a new radio with Bluetooth. I want to run the wire for the mic up under the headliner under the overhead console and attach it to the bottom of the console. My question is (and it has already been talked about) Do I simply pull straight down on the console starting from the back where it flips down for the sunglass storage. I pulled down on it some already, but was affraid of breaking something. I did notice when I dropped the sunglass storage door that I could see (2) rubber plugs up against the inside of the console like they attached the console to the headliner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The instructions I posted are only for the 2009 F150. Hence, this is the 2009 - Present Ford F150 area of the forum.
I thought I read somewhere that the older F150's had screws that needed to be removed but I have no personal experience with them.

Just bouncing this very old thread back up.
I needed to pull the overhead console today on my 2011 FX4 SuperCrew... Sure enough, just four spring clips, pull straight down. It required lots of pressure though. Got an edge pried out a bit with a plastic trim tool, then pulled.
I would have been reluctant to pull that hard without a pretty good idea it was actually the right way to remove it!
