Read the posts above mine.

Where they talk about housings with two bulbs. Where one is low and one is high, and my post was in reference to the situation where the low beam shuts off when the high beam comes on (rare, but not totally gone yet) and how that is bad for the setup.

You shouldnt assume I don't know what I'm talking about, and I won't assume you're entirely uneducated in what you're talking about.

As for godly? That's a bit much, you don't need to call me by that, but I'm glad you feel that way.

i must have missed the dual bulb conversation both times I read this thread, as I still don't see it. Regardless, no F150 that I know of, from at least 89 to 13, have had dual bulbs for low beams and high beams ( I've owned at least one from each of those generations) , so while that is good information to know for someone with that concern (thanks for the education), it is irrelevant to an F150. Either way, you win. I'm uneducated about what I'm talking about.

...non factory.

That's the point you can't seem to grasp.

Not for nothing but I've had HIDs in for 3 years now and have used my auto lights from day one.

I'm sure it's a hit or miss thing.

i get that, but you were the ONLY person in this entire conversation talking about non factory anything. Additionally, why would a person go through the effort to modify a system designed for a single bulb in order to use a dual bulb system? It would be a monumental waste of money and effort, and would require unnecessary electrical work.

Whatever man, I'm tired of arguing with you about this. Obviously you are the holder of great knowledge, far superior to me, so I will now out before I embarrass myself further.

From what I've read its more of a "quality" issue for some.

I think that as long as the components you have are of good quality, then it won't ever be an issue. Its when you get the super cheap low quality ones that there becomes a potential for problems.

Its not a "one size fits all" thing, its just that there are users here that don't use what's considered "quality" - and it may turn out to work perfectly fine for a long time, but its when low quality is used with crank that there's been a lot of issues.

Just an fyi... The switch is a partial pull back for flash and complete for "on / off". Older models were as you described.

Default F150 HiBeam Problems

When i pull the switch to switch from low beams to high beams they will come on as long as i hold the switch in but as soon as I let it go the low beams will come back on. Or sometimes the high beams will get stuck on and i cant get it to switch back to the low beams the same thing will happen. I would take it to the dealer but it would be kinda hard for them to figure it out since it doesn't happen all of the time. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of this happening.
Hope this was resolved. This switch was getting ready to fail on you. Mine just went through the same process, recently and will not release from the HiBeam setting. So, It's going to have to be addressed. I'm looking into a video on how it's done. If I can do it without removing the steering wheel, I'll do it. The dealer will do it, if the wheel needs to come off. Cheers! David
