My opinion follows...

Timbrens replace the OEM bump-stops on the truck. These come into play when the suspension compresses so much that the stops are needed to prevent the frame from smashing into the axel or bottoming out. Timbrens, although usually longer than the OEM stops, only come into play when its too-late. That is, only after there is so much sag that the frame/axel meet. Its a good secondary measure, but in my opinion, it doesn't address the issue to reduce the sag.
