Default Help Pimp My Ride

I bought a 2010 F150 Crew Cab w/ the 5.4l and the 5.5ft box. I am currently driving it for work and get reimbursed mileage. So I am looking for some advice on some modifications that will increase the gas mileage I get when I am cruising at road speeds but at the same time I want something that will blow the doors of my brothers Grand Prix GXP (stock). You know a little friendly sibling rivalry.

Also in regards to exhaust modifications I can't have anything too loud.

Thanks in advance!

for a quiet aftermarket exhaust that still sounds nice go with a flowmaster 50 series. Other than that get a cold air intake. Intake and exhaust are a good place to start. I dont know if you will be able to blow off your brothers door with just that but remember you are driving a truck not a race car. Unless you want to invest in supercharging it, but thats pretty pricey.

Ok thanks, I was also looking at getting a chip or tuner... But am very unfamiliar with them and was wondering what's the best one to get and if they are worth the money, also I was wondering if it is an upgrade that damages the vehicle (hard on engine or transmision) anything like that. Thanks!

There's really nothing you can do that's going to help you blow the doors off anything you can't already. If you rely on it for work I would personally shy away from a tuner since you can't afford being without the truck for awhile if something were to go wrong (not saying that's likely). An exhaust is fine if you want a different sound. Spending money on a CAI is a waste IMO.

How is a CAI a waste? The tuner will not damage your truck. I have one in my truck but its an older model so I dont know what kind of tuners there are for the 2010s. One problem with the tuners is, dont quote me on this, but I think in some cases it can void your warranty which would not be worth it.
